In November of 2006, when my daughter turned 1, I realized it was time to pull myself off of the couch, throw away the fast food and make some changes in my life!
I have battled with my nutrition since childhood and even when I got on track with improving my health I would always resort back to the foods that kept me from losing the weight and keeping it off. This time I was determined to make forever changes so I could be a better role model for my kids.
As a child I battled with self-confidence after being badly burned on my belly and thighs leaving permanent scars, my parents divorced, and I had a constant feeling of not being where I needed to be.
Meeting my husband helped for sure – becoming the mom of dogs, then having two beautiful children – all big parts of who I am. Finding fitness and nutrition tools to help me, then realizing that paying it forward and inspiring others would be the key item to make me feel whole again! Despite this, I STILL struggle! But I also battle to be the best I can be!
I LOVE that I get to share what helps me! Healthy eating with recipes and meal planning, regular fitness with workouts that I truly enjoy, being a mom with the highs and the lows, helping the animal community by spaying and neutering and rescuing pets in need! and now raising a Guide Dog for the Blind. My puzzle will never be complete as these are all ongoing projects but my cup keeps getting filled back up with the pleasure they bring me!
