Are you Committed to your Health?

How many times have you tried to get started with “getting healthy”?

How many times have you started exercising and making healthier food choices then BAM… something came up and you just put it all on the back burner.

Getting Healthy isn’t a fad, it isn’t a temporary fix and it is rarely an easy process. It is a lifestyle change and definitely worth planning so you can be successful!

One of the most important steps of your “getting healthy” plan should be focusing on WHY!  Why are you making these changes? Why are you starting? What is going to keep you going?

Some of these reasons may be mini goals like: you have a trip coming up and you want to buy some cute new outfits; you signed up for an obstacle run with friends and need to prepare to conquer the monkey bars; or you want to spend time walking with friends in the neighborhood every morning and not be winded after one block.
Others may be bigger, life defining goals: your doctor recommended changes for your health so you can avoid going on medication; you want to be active in your children’s lives and not stuck on the sidelines watching; or you are sick and tired of putting yourself last and ready to make your health a priority.

You NEED to be committed. You need to make these changes for YOU.  You need to be able to look back on your WHY when you are struggling to stay on track and to remember WHY you even started to begin with.  Defining your reasons for starting, for keeping going, and focusing on how you will feel when you reach each goal along the way! be unstoppable

Why so much planning? Because change isn’t easy!

It is much easier to stick with your old habits, right?

So, take the time and focus on HOW you feel when you DO make the healthy choices. Imagine how you WILL feel when you stick with it for a week, for a month and for a year!
How much extra energy you will have and how your success will fit with WHY you are starting!

You can even take it further and imagine how much faster you will move around the tennis courts, in the 5K run, in the walk around the neighborhood with your family!  How much more confident you will feel just being YOU!
If you can imagine the benefits of sticking with it, you are much more likely to actually “stick with it”!

Find the fun in making it happen and surround yourself with people who will cheer you on and support you every step of the way!
